Job Description
- To lead, plan, and manage the engineering function to ensure that all plant, equipment, and systems are designed, maintained, and operated safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
- The Engineering Manager is responsible for driving technical excellence, continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies.

- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & fabrication).
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Define clear objectives, priorities, and development plans for team members.
- Develop and implement the engineering strategy aligned with company goals.
- Oversee capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant modifications.
- Manage engineering budgets (capital and operational expenditure).
- Forecast resource requirements and manage contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs are in place.
- Drive equipment reliability and availability through data-driven performance monitoring.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with statutory requirements (e.g., OHSA, General Machinery Regulations, Pressure Equipment Regulations).
- Manage risk assessments, safe work procedures, and engineering controls.
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications in accordance with standards.
- Ensure projects meet quality, cost, safety, and schedule targets.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations for project execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, cost savings, and sustainability.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies that enhance operational performance.
- Liaise with operations, production, SHEQ, finance, and external regulators.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other departments.
- Represent the engineering function in audits, inspections, and management meetings
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- N Diploma/B.Eng./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of production & warehouse processes
- Must be able to read and interpret P&IDs/vessel drawings
- SAP Maintenance
- Strong understanding of OHSA, General Machinery Regulations, Pressure Equipment Regulations, ISO standards
- Must be proficient with Delta V
