Description

  • The main purpose of the Production operator is to blend, load and offload raw materials and products in a safe, hygienic manner to ensure feed safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily stock dips of the tanks.
  • Tanker loading and offloading.
  • Taking product samples from tanks and tankers, as per company requirements.
  • Sealing the outlet valve and top manhole on tankers.
  • Transfer product between tanks as per written instructions.
  • Completing blends as per QC blend sheet.
  • Circulating of blended products.
  • Adding antioxidants to the processed product as per written instructions.
  • CCP and OPRP handler.
  • Exchanging filter sieve and clean as necessary.
  • Exchanging filter bags during loading.
  • Operate hose exchanges.
  • Site housekeeping.
  • Drop water out of tanks as required.
  • Pump operation.
  • Steam application to the tanks and tankers.
  • Clearing the transfer lines of product.
  • Complete written instructions for every stock movement.
  • Ensure COA and CTC goes with each product going out to customers
  • Ensure all pit areas are emptied daily.
  • Always wear required PPE.
  • Maintain good health, safety and feed safety practices.
  • Wash and clean all company vehicles as per SOPs.
  • Wash flowbins as required.
  • Apply steam to hard product in tankers and drain product into assigned tanks or flowbins.
  • Cleaning tankers as required.
  • Cleaning of tanks as required.
  • Ensure no fat and oil enters to storm water system.
  • Report any problems regarding vehicle cleanliness to management.
  • Ensure all tasks are done in compliance with feed safety and quality management systems.

Health and Safety

  • Participate in safety forums and attend relevant training/programmes
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures
  • Always wear protective clothing (where applicable)

Requirements
Qualification and Experience

  • Grade 12
  • Forklift driver – Valid forklift licence will be an advantage
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience
